Cassie Springer Ayeni is the President of Springer Ayeni, A Professional Law Corporation. She represents people with disability, medical, and life insurance benefit claims under ERISA. Cassie was the 2019-2022 Plaintiff’s Chair of the American Bar Association (ABA) / Labor & Employment Law Section’s (LEL) Employee Benefits Committee and is currently a LEL Representative to the Joint Committee on Employee Benefits, as well as a co-chair of the LEL Section’s Women’s Affinity Group. In 2022 she was elected as a Fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel. She was also recently appointed as a Liaison to the ABA’s Commission on Women in the Profession.
In 2018, Cassie was a recipient of the Minority Bar Coalition’s 41st Annual “MBC Unity Award.” Cassie has been selected as a “Top 100” attorney in Northern California in 2015-2022 by Super Lawyers Magazine, and “Top 50 Women” attorney in Northern California by the same publication in 2014-2022. She was also chosen as a “Top 40 under 40” attorney by the National Trial Lawyers in March 2014, a “Top 20 under 40” attorney in the state of California by the Daily Journal in January 2012, as well as one of 50 California attorneys “On the Fast Track” by the Recorder in June 2012.
She is an active leader in the ABA, LEL, and Employee Benefits Committee, where she has repeatedly spoken at conferences, served as track coordinator, served on programming committees, and co-chaired committees including the Membership Services Committee, the Leadership Development Program Committee, the National Programs Committee, the Marketing Committee, and the Benefit Claims and Individual Rights Subcommittee. From 2013-2014, Cassie served as Governor-at-Large for the California Women Lawyers Board of Governors. She is also currently on the Executive Committee of the Alameda-Contra Costa County Trial Lawyers Association.
Cassie graduated from UC Berkeley, Phi Beta Kappa, in 1999, and from UC Berkeley School of Law in 2002.
